On April 10, 2018, ACTiVHOS™ launched in a school setting for the first time, partnering with Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s International Newcomers Academy at Thomas Jefferson on the west side. After 6 weeks, 31 students in the 5th grade successfully completed the program on May 15, 2018 to rave reviews. Two students were awarded bicycles for being the most active students in the class. Team Purple won gift cards for their efforts as a team.
“I honestly want to thank you and your team for such a wonderful program! The students were very into it - logging their foods, exercise, and steps. They really started to try the fruits and vegetables that we are given 2 to 3 times a week through a grant program because you made them realize that it can actually taste really good. They have made a conscious effort to be more fit and walk more. When given the opportunity to stand or sit in class, they choose to stand now because they know they can march in place and burn energy."
